Grace Chicago Church (RCA)
Grace Chicago seeks the good of individuals and the welfare of the city of Chicago by embracing the good news of God’s redemptive promises. Since Grace is committed to partnering with existing ministries that invest in the people and neighborhoods of Chicago, Cultivate participants will both assist Grace in serving at Breakthrough Urban Ministries, and also help to develop one core partnership in the Lakeview area. In addition, Cultivate participants will work alongside the pastoral team on a variety of events and projects.
CEPAD (the Council of Protestant Churches of Nicaragua) has a 40-year history of sustainable community development in Nicaragua. Based in the capital city of Managua, CEPAD works with rural communities to build sustainability in agriculture, leadership, and pastoral care. Cultivate participants join the CEPAD staff to further church partnerships with communities, host groups from North America, and assist with communication between English and Spanish speakers. Participants should have the ability to speak conversational Spanish. (This site also offers a summer Cultivate opportunity.)
Fara Limite is a rock climbing gym that was created to provide a safe space where Romanian youth can spend their free timers. Year-long Cultivate participants use their marketing and writing skills to support Fara Limite’s work. Setshabelo Family and Child Services
Botshabelo, South Africa
About half of all children in Botshabelo, South Africa, are orphaned or considered critically vulnerable. Setshabelo Family and Child Services (SFCS) seeks to place vulnerable children with safe and loving adoptive families. Cultivate participants support the ministries of SFCS through administrative, communications, and marketing assistance, as well as mentoring programs.

Time for God

Time for God provides opportunities for volunteers to serve for a year in Christian communities throughout the UK. Cultivate participants spend a year serving in a church or working in ministries that serve children, youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable people. With close to 100 partner sites, Time for God works with Cultivate staff to find the perfect placement for volunteers to use their gifts.
Throughout the city of Lincoln, people are in need of resources, support, and God’s grace. Immerse and F Street Church are continuously working to make the community a place where people can thrive. Cultivate participants support Immerse by assisting with Christian 12-step programs, re-entry programs, and ministries to people without homes. Participants also help with worship services at F Street Church and with hosting youth teams in the summer. (This site also offers a summer Cultivate opportunity.)

Feeling called to ministry in a local church? Mescalero Reformed Church is in need of help with its ministry on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Cultivate participants can serve in any number of capacities: an afterschool program, middle school and high school youth groups, Bible studies, Sunday school classes, worship leadership, and maintenance of the church grounds.
Winnebago Reformed Church
Passionate about ministering to youths and young adults? Then don’t miss this opportunity to serve at Winnebago Reformed Church, located on the Winnebago Reservation in Nebraska. Cultivate participants will assist in developing ministry to teens and twenties, inviting and encouraging them as they develop their walk with Jesus. Many of these young people come from difficult family situations where abuse and substance abuse is common.
New York, New York
The mission of Project Hospitality is to serve people who are hungry and homeless in New York neighborhoods and to provide resources that will help those individuals become more self-sufficient. Cultivate participants with a heart for people in poverty can assist Project Hospitality by serving in the community kitchen, food pantry, drop-in center, and shelter.
San Francisco, California
In the heart of San Francisco, City Hope walks with its neighbors to provide a safe and sacred community for people who feel isolated and overlooked. Year-long Cultivate participants come alongside City Hope as they empower neighbors in the Tenderloin district to break the cycle of addiction, incarceration, and poverty. They do so by providing these neighbors with the space, relationships, and support needed to achieve their goals. (This site also offers a summer Cultivate opportunity.)
